Affiliate disclosure

How affiliate links on this site work and how they pay for it.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

What that means

Some links on Fish Tank Sizes go to Amazon.com and include our Amazon Associates tracking ID. If you click one and buy something within Amazon’s tracking window, Amazon pays us a small commission. The price you pay is the same as it would be without the link.

Where you will see them

Affiliate links appear in the “Gear” boxes on tank, fish and guide pages. Each one is labeled and marked with rel="sponsored". Most link to an Amazon search, such as “100 watt aquarium heater”, rather than a single product, so you can compare options yourself.

How gear is chosen

The gear we list follows from the tank’s measurements: a heater sized to its volume, a filter rated for four to six turnovers an hour, a stand and lid that match its footprint. No company pays to be included, and affiliate commissions never change what a page says about tank sizes or fish.

Example

On the 55 gallon tank page, the gear box suggests a heater of 250 W, a filter rated for 220 to 330 gallons per hour, and a stand and lid sized 48 by 13 inches. Those numbers come from the tank’s volume and footprint. The links search Amazon for those terms. If you buy a heater through one, we may earn a small commission; if you buy elsewhere, the advice is the same.

What we do not do

  • We do not accept free products in exchange for coverage.
  • We do not rank products by commission rate.
  • We do not hide affiliate links behind redirects; the link goes to Amazon and shows our tracking tag.

Advertising

The site also shows ads from Google AdSense. We don’t pick individual ads, and an ad on a page is not an endorsement.
